Recognised for artistic leanings as a child, now artist, writer and award-winning photographer, Phillip Messinger, continues creative pursuits drawing, painting, sculpture, lighting, ceramics and various other media.
He began his study of photographic principles on his own at about age 14, had images first published in 1974 and began selling his work while still pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, graduating in August of 1976.
His unique and diverse body of work is the result of over 20 years of photography and digital graphics production, beginning in 1983 without formal computer training; first learning to use a computer to automate studio billing, quickly recognizing the potential for graphics creation and production. By 1986, he had already set out producing digital page layouts and editing bitmap/raster images for publication.
He serves the photo-imaging needs of clients providing creative, dynamic imaging solutions with images of people, places, and products, mindful of clients' specific applications. In the face of recent changes in the photographic market, Messinger has turned his attention toward aspects of photography requiring more refined artistic sensibilities with unique techniques, advanced technology and innovative presentations.
In the past, having focused primarily on photography, he's intent on broader pursuits, actively applying effort to inspired works in other media; commissions or purely personal accomplishments. Some of work is presented here; available to view, license for use or purchase to own or give.
